If you've played a platformer before, you know they are frustrating. In fact, I could say, at least in my experience, a frustrating experience is one of the defining factors of a platformer. Unless you're Johan Sundstein, in which case platformers are probably a breeze. However, odds are, most of you are not Johan Sundstein, so platformers are really really frustrating. So if you're not Johan Sundstein, Low's Adventure is the perfect platform. It's overly hard. Overly frustrating. Has way to may levels. And is in no way worth it to waste 2 hours of your life trying to beat this game.
Low's Adventure has rather simple mechanics, including a basic movement system using the arrow keys or WAD, ladders, cannons, enemy spawners, enemies, and an umbrella.
The cannons shoot out black cannon balls that move at a steady pace, killing you instantly if you touch it. These do not kill enemies.
Enemy spawners spawn enemies. The enemies have a set path to move on and will not chase you. To kill the enemies, jump on them. If you hit the enemies at a certain angle, you get a large jump boost.
The umbrella works much like Mary Poppin's umbrella. If you press the up arrow or W while falling, you will fall slower and have much more time to maneuver in the air. You do not start with the umbrella, but you can find it in certain levels.
Overall, this game will get a 3.5 out of 5 stars. This is because I hate, hate, hate, HATE platforms because they are so frustrating. The only other problem with this game is that the foreground and background have different pixel sizes. This isn't that noticeable while playing because the two different colors both blend together well and supply enough contrast, but if you're just looking at the game, it's very noticeable. Other than that, this game is pretty awesome
