Mining: Mining is very important. You get ores that you can make into tools and armor. You can also trade. Check out are review on trading and villages. Let's start mining. First, start a staircase. Once you started your staircase, get some stone to make stone tools. They can be used to mine iron and coal. Make your staircase to the middle coordinate (y level) 16. This level is best for coal and iron. Most ores spawn best exposed to air blocks, such as caves. Make a 3 block tall chamber and make 2 block tall tunnels every 2 blocks.
Do you want DIAMONDS?! Well, diamonds spawn best lower down. I like mining for diamonds at y level -54. Starting around level 0, you will see a new stone. It is black, and is called deepslate. It can be used as a stone substitute for tools and can be made into plenty of decorative deepslate blocks. This is lava level. Mining at lava level makes sure lava doesn't pour down on you. Follow the same procedure as for coal and iron. Make a 3 block tall chamber, and make two block tall tunnels every two blocks. If you come across lava, pour a water bucket on it to turn it into obsidian. Once you find diamonds, you will need an iron pickaxe to mine it. This goes with gold
, too. You will need a diamond pickaxe for obsidian, which can be used to make a Nether Portal and an Ender chest, which we cover in reviews called, Minecraft: The Nether, and Minecraft: The End.
Caves: You may come across a cave in your world. You should know what a cave is. Caves have more ores exposed in them. Caves also are home to many monsters and structures. We cover some cave structures later in this review, all except for the Stronghold, which we cover in Minecraft: The End.
Cave Structures: First, we start with the dungeon. Dungeons are cobblestone structures with a monster spawner in it. Monster spawners will spawn a certain monster It can be a skeleton, zombie, or spider. There are also 1-2 chests. Rarely, you may come across a rip-off dungeon with no chests.
We move on to the mineshaft. Mineshafts are abandoned mines. Mineshafts have minecarts with chests that have loot. Mineshafts are home to cave spiders, which will poison you and are smaller than regular spiders. You can also find lots of webs in one area. In the middle of the webs, usually, is a cave spider spawner. If in a cave, mineshafts will be hanging from chains or supported by wood.
That's about it, so check out our other Minecraft reviews and subscribe to the site.
