(We publish a Minecraft review daily, except for weekends)
Minecraft is a video game. Unlike our other reviews, it is not a browser game. Yes, we do have reviews on knockoff Minecrafts. Minecraft has two actively updated versions. Java and Bedrock. You can check out the review on those after you read this one.
Minecraft can be bought as Minecraft Java for your PC or Minecraft Bedrock for Windows, console, and mobile devices (Minecraft PE/Pocket Edition). You can also buy both Java and Bedrock on Xbox Game Pass. If you want to learn how to play, check out our reviews: Minecraft: Surviving Your First Night, or Minecraft: Build Your Dreams in Creative Mode.
Bedrock: Minecraft is a building game and survival game. To play, once you load into Minecraft, click Play. To start your own world, click Create New World. Then, click Create New. A box will say 'My World.' You can rename it there. Next, under that, there are plenty of world options to customize your world. When you're done customizing, click Play.
Bedrock for Mobile: Use your fingers to control the screen buttons. The top arrow on the left goes forward, the left goes left, the right goes right, and the bottom goes backwards. In the middle of that, there is a button. Double-tap it to crouch. While crouching, you go slower, but cannot fall. Press the button on the right to jump. Double-tap it to fly. Two arrows will appear above and below it. The top one will make you go up while flying, and the bottom one will make you go down while flying. To stop flying, double-tap the jump button. Drag your fingers on the screen to look around. Tap while holding a block to place. Hold to break blocks. To open your inventory, press the 3-dot button next to the bar at the bottom. You can tap something you want from the inventory and tap somewhere in your inventory and put it there. The bar at the bottom of the screen is your hotbar. It's a mini-inventory. Tap to attack something. Hold while holding food to eat.
Java: Click Play when you have loaded into Minecraft. You can create a new world from there. There are plenty of world options there. I can't explain all of them, so TO THE MINECRAFT REDDIT!
Java and Bedrock for Windows: It's simple. (All of these controls, except for F2, F3, F5, and all those buttons, are used to play Bedrock (For Windows) and Java on a computer.) To play, use WASD. W to go forward, A to go left, S to go backwards, and D to go right. Press SPACE to jump. While in creative mode, press SPACE twice to fly. Use SHIFT to crouch. In creative mode, use SHIFT to go down while flying. To open your inventory, press E. If you want to see your coordinates, press F3. It will also show other stuff, such as number of chunks currently loaded, or block properties. Press F2 to take a screenshot. Press F5 to change from first person to third person view.
