Big Neon Tower, Tiny Square: the Definition of Grinding

Updated: Mar 30, 2022

Big Neon Tower, Tiny Square is a beautiful game. But it is extremely aggravating. To beat it, you really, really have to grind this game. The obstacles are incredibly intense, and sometimes you have to spend 20 minutes on just one obstacle. So although the game is very, very intense, if you beat it, it feels awesome.

Big Neon Tower, Tiny Square's controls are very simple. It's WAD. W to jump, A to go left, and D to go right.

The art style, as the name suggests, is a mix between 80's and 90's neon art. It's quite satisfying to look at, and goes nicely with the lasers in the game.

Some of the obstacles in this game include: light beams, lasers, spinning triangles, guards, lifts, jump boxes, and spikes.

Light beams are moving belts of stickiness. If you touch one, it will take you for a ride, and will not let you jump off until the beam ends.

Of these obstacles, the laser is the worst. The laser also has two varieties, functioning lasers, and non-functioning lasers. Functioning lasers are always on. Non-functioning lasers are on some of the time, but are off the rest of the time

Spinning triangles are pretty simple. They are triangles. They spin, and some of them bob up and down, while others are stationary.

Guards are also tricky. They either patrol or sleep while idle. However, if you get to close to them, they will start to chase you. The only way to escape them is to hide in a jump box or die. As you can imagine, they will kill you if you touch them.

Lifts do just what you think they do: go up and down. But here's the catch: On each side of the lift, there are wires, which will kill you if you touch them. The wires are supposedly there because the electrician was bad.

Jump boxes are fun. You hop into one, press the jump key, and up, up, and away you go!

You can also swim in Big Neon Tower, Tiny Square. Since you are a square, you don't need oxygen, therefore you cannot drown. To go up, tap the jump key. There is no key to go down, but you will always drift downwards.
